Quintero Leads Toyota Podium Sweep on BFGoodrich Tires at Rally of Morocco
Seth Quintero claimed victory at the Ola Energy Rally of Morocco, leading a Toyota one-two-three finish on BFGoodrich tires and moving into the lead of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship.
American Quintero finished ahead of Portugal’s João Ferreira and South Africa’s Henk Lategan, with all three competing in Toyota Hilux Evo vehicles equipped with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KDR3 tires.
The championship’s fourth round challenged competitors with approximately 1,600 kilometers of timed stages between Agadir and Zagora. A demanding mix of gravel trails and sand dunes tested crews and vehicles, with Toyota, Dacia, Ford and MINI represented in the Ultimate category.
Consistency proved decisive for Quintero. Although he did not record a stage win, his performance across the week secured his second victory of the season and Toyota’s first win in Morocco since 2023. The result moved him ahead of Sébastien Loeb and Nasser Al-Attiyah in the championship standings after both encountered technical issues with their BFGoodrich-equipped Dacia Sandriders.
Ford also showed progress, taking two stage victories with its BFGoodrich-equipped Raptors. Nani Roma, Mitch Guthrie and Carlos Sainz finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively.
BFGoodrich-equipped vehicles also claimed victories in the SSV and Stock categories. Former motorcycle racer Matthias Walkner won the SSV category in a Can-Am, while Stéphane Peterhansel, known as “Mr. Dakar,” secured the Stock category victory in a Defender.
